Maroons are State Champs!

The last time a Butte Central Boys Basketball team took a fire truck ride around the Mining City was in 1992. 28 years later the 2020 Maroons had a season for the ages finishing with a 20-4 record. Lead by seniors Jared Simkins, Luke Heaphy, Matt Simkins, Braden Harrington, Trevor Neumann, Ryan Wahl, Aaron Richards, Gator Yelenich, and Thomas McGree the Maroons took down Billings Central 51-46 in the first round of the State Tournament. In the semi-finals the Maroons beat Browning 66-50 to advance to the State Championship against Hardin. Due to Covid-19 the State Championship Game was cancelled and the Maroons were named Co-state Champions. The Butte Central community is very proud of these young men and the way they represented Butte Central Catholic Schools. Other members of the team were Bryan Holland, Egan Lester, Kyle Holter, Isaac Sholey, Bryson Sestrich, Drew Badovinac and Dougie Peoples. The team was coached by Head Coach Brodie Kelly and his assistants Alex Murphy, Renzy Kelly, Colin Hollow, Keegan McCarthy, and Tanner Neumann. Great Job Maroons!!
