Tomich Track Meet

The Tomich track meet, which took place on April 27th, 2024, at the Charlie Merrifield track within the Gene Fogarty Sports Complex, saw persistent rain throughout the day. Despite the challenging weather conditions, student athletes showcased their skills with notable achievements.  Ella Moodry, a two-time state champion did well in the meet.  Ella threw the javelin 135 feet 1 inch to secure the win.  She also ran the 100M in 13.16 for first place.   Molly Peck threw the discus 67′-2 and Caden Tippett a distance of 63′-10 for 10th and 11th places.  Kherington Adams finishing 7th  had a time of 6:43 in the girls 1600 M race.  In the Shot-put Michael Peck had a throw of 33′-3 ,  Ayden Durkin a throw of 26′-4 and Marcus Shutey 20′.  Jack Keely’s impressive jump of 19 feet 6 ½ inches secured a commendable fourth place.  Among Butte Central’s other noteworthy performances were McGee, claiming fourth place in the boys’ 100-meter event; Jim Bradshaw, securing fourth place in the boys’ 3,200-meter race; and the boys’ 400-meter relay team—comprised of McGee, McGree, Keeley, and Moodry—achieving third place with a time of 46.23 seconds. In the 110-meter hurdles, Moodry finished fifth with a time of 16.10 seconds, while McGree followed closely behind in eighth place with a time of 16.97 seconds. Although Keeley, did not compete in the javelin, he still took fourth place in the long jump with a leap of 19-6 ½. Additionally, Robertson attained sixth place with a jump of 18-6, McGee secured ninth place with a jump of 17-11 ½ and Zane Moodry 11th with a jump of 17-5. ½.
